Nagarjuna Construction Company Limited (NCCL), achieved a turnover of Rs 360.61 Crores for the 1st quarter of the current year 2005-06 as against a turnover of Rs. 233 Crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, registering an impressive growth of 55% over the previous period. The Company posted a gross profit of Rs. 29.06 Crores before interest, depreciation and taxes as against Rs. 17.75 Crores in the previous corresponding quarter. After deducting Interest of Rs. 4.28 Crores, providing a sum of Rs. 3.39 Crores for Depreciation, providing Rs. 2.22 Crores for Current, Deferred and Fringe Benefit Taxes, the operations resulted in a net profit of Rs. 19.17 Crores as against Rs. 10.15 Crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, thereby showing an impressive growth of 89% in Profit After Tax .
The Company has reported basic EPS of Rs. 12.06 (Not annualised) as against Rs. 8.85 in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. For the current year 2005-06, the company has targeted to achieve a turnover of Rs.1800 Crores as against Rs.1193.38 Crores achieved in the previous year. The company is confident of achieving the said guidance keeping in view the turnover achieved in the 1st quarter and the healthy order book position of the company.
